I was born January 27, 1964, in
Red Bank, NJ. I grew up in Tinton
Falls, NJ (look at a map)
with my parents, Brad and Zena, and my sister Mimi. I graduated from Brandeis University in 1985 with a
B.A. in Anthropology.
After graduating, I worked in various jobs in the Boston area before deciding, in 1988 to move to California. Almost as soon as I arrived, I found a job as a word processor. In 1994, after taking some computer science classes at UC Berkeley, I started my career as a technical writer. In 2001, I was laid off from my last permanent job. I got a couple of contracts after that, but then nothing. I decided to try two paths: I did the Java Professional Sequence at UC Berkeley Extension, and the Paralegal Certificate program at Merritt College. One of my paralegal instructors suggested that I go to law school, so I decided to give it a try.
For more information about my work experience, see my resume page (currently out of date).
I am currently in my first year at Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, OR. Because I'm in law school, I don't have time for much else. The only thing I do for fun on a regular basis is to go to games parties at the house of a guy who hosts them every three to four weeks. When I first got here, I went to a couple of song circles sponsored by the Portland Folklore Society, and I keep hoping to go again, but I never have time.
